While most service members and veterans do not return home with mental disorders, there is a spectrum of change that affects everyone in military service. As the war comes home, it is critical to illuminate aspects of the experience of serving one’s country that contribute to these changes, and for some, lead to invisible wounding.
We invite counseling professionals, clergy, legal advisors, educators, military veterans, their families, and concerned civilians for a day-long conference to:
Understand the interface between post traumatic stress and the implications of neurobiology,
Examine the impact of Moral Injury on the individual, the family, and society,
Clarify the elements of prevention and healing,
Delineate the ethics of understanding these concepts in clinical practice.
Speakers sharing their expertise and work are:
Key features of The Warrior’s Journey will be active contribution and dialogue with participants joining small groups for discussion throughout the day, leading to deliberations and conclusions in the larger gathering. Lunch, drinks, and snacks included.
