Description
Greetings everyone and welcome to "THE
MOORE THERAPY MOVEMENT!" Darren D. Moore,
Ph.D., LMFT, presents a workshop on Obesity and Mental
Health for clinicians, educators, human service workers,
medical professionals...for all. Obesity as a health
issue and social construct has been discussed widely in
scholarly literature. However, obesity as it relates to
mental health is not discussed as commonly. Likewise,
despite current treatment practices, obesity continues
to be on the rise and continues to diminish the quality of
life for individuals, couples and families. In this innovative
and creative workshop, Dr. Moore will explore the
topics of obesity and mental health as a social issue, a
treatment issue, and as a phenomenon. An important
element of this workshop will be on discussing the complexities
of the obesity epidemic, discussing current
practices and contemporary research and on exploring
treatments.
