Looking
ahead to the year 2050, population estimates suggest that one in every
four individuals will be 65 years or older. With this increased number,
there are numerous issues that impact social workers practitioners.
All social workers, regardless of practice area or context, will be
facing issues of an older population. This presentation will examine
aging from a person:environment perspective. The five hour course will
be divided into various sections that look at aging in a comprehensive
way. In each section, content will be provided as an overview of the
issues of aging, and an activity or exercise will be included. In
addition, evidence informed practice approaches will be particularly
highlighted.
